The Situation

Graybow had achieved a significant local market share within the audiovisual communications industry by combining the latest AV technology with a “customer for life” approach to service. To reach the next level of growth, however, Graybow needed more capital and more management breadth.

The president and founder sought Teneca’s help finding an acquirer with the right attributes, a similar approach to the market and a complementary perspective on growth to enable continued expansion.

The Transaction

Teneca worked with Graybow to position the company as a growth platform attractive to larger, strategic market participants, private equity funds and investor groups. We ran a competitive process resulting in the sale of Graybow to an investor group that provided additional management talent.

The Result

Teneca completed the sale of Graybow at an attractive valuation based on industry metrics. The founder was able to cash out, and the new owners acquired a platform for further consolidation within this industry.
