Roger Jones, Partner

Roger has many years of experience in corporate finance and capital markets activities. As a Managing Director at Dain Rauscher and later at John G. Kinnard & Company, Inc., he led a variety of private capital raising initiatives. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Co-Head of the Private Capital Group of Dillon Read & Co. in New York, where he completed numerous projects for the firm’s corporate and financial sponsor clients as well as on behalf of the firm’s private equity fund, Saratoga Partners.

Roger began his career at Irving Trust Company in New York, where he founded and managed the Acquisition Finance Department, which conducted the bank’s cash flow-based leveraged lending activities.

He has extensive experience structuring and raising equity and debt capital for corporate clients from a wide assortment of institutional investors. His background includes venture-stage as well as later-stage emerging growth and public companies.

Despite the Wall Street gravitas, Roger can at times be quite fun to work with. He is an effective negotiator – which has nothing to do with the fact that he grew up in Tony Soprano’s hometown in New Jersey. Honest. He’s an avid golfer and tennis player.  Roger and his wife Linda enjoy visiting their daughter and her husband, a kicker in the NFL.

Katherine Vessells, Partner

Kathy has more than 25 years of commercial and investment banking experience. Previously, she served as Vice President at Principal Financial Securities, EVEREN Securities and Manchester Financial Group.

Prior to entering the investment banking field, Kathy was a commercial lender serving both middle-market and Fortune 500 companies at Continental Illinois National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago and at Wells Fargo, where she originated over $350 million in new credit relationships within the agribusiness, energy, sporting goods, retail, healthcare and general manufacturing sectors. Her investment banking experience includes senior and subordinated debt placements, private and public equity placements, mergers and acquisitions and recapitalizations.

Kathy is attempting to close the gap between her enthusiasm for and skill level in golf, and also counts among her hobbies playing the piano, singing in a small choir and learning to play the fiddle—though she is not allowed to practice that particular instrument within earshot of anyone. She is fluent in French, accomplished in Italian and functional in German, Spanish and English. Kathy gets a kick out of visiting her husband John in January and February in North Dakota, where he works half-time at Sanford Health—golf clubs always in the trunk and at the ready, in case the weather clears up early
